“People ask me all the time how I know that something is going to work when designing a room. I have no magic knowledge over anyone else, what I do have is the luxury of having done this (designing rooms) for as long as I can remember—even before I was considered a professional. Since the first time I dragged around my parent’s furniture in our Chicago apartment as 6-year-old, instinctively I knew that context was everything. Something may look all wrong or disconnected by itself, but pairing it with the appropriate piece, wall color, or accessory instantly makes it work. My Crawford sofa in this beautiful mango color and pattern is a perfect example of just that. I’ve paired it with my David ReNu leather chair with the nail head detail and by adding a few dark wood, espresso finished furniture pieces (that pick up on the espresso stained wooded legs of the sofa & chair), the room really feels pulled together.
